Pop Punk Rock On Modern World

Pop Punk was a lovely thing. Not unlike the artlessness and simplicity of a small kid enjoying an ice cream and, without a care, allowing most if it to live on his or her lap.

It was interesting, simple, entertaining, played by young people, aimed at young people, just like the original Punk movement of the 1970's, just with no direction, no insight that is political, and played much, much faster.

Until it began becoming slower and more easy on the ear, it joyfully continued throughout the 90's, sitting happily alongside other choice genres.

Pop Punk began to chart regularly, also it started to breed with more conventional steel. The the lower, gruff growls of steel were spliced with the up-tempo shouting of pop-punk, and became a screech. We'd Refused heard it before and had shouted that bit louder than punk oriented groups, but now it turned out to be a punky metal screamy romance having a more psychological edge.

Emo stole Pop Punk away.

A development that is new is the fact that seemingly women are allowed to sing pop-punk now, plus they do it nicely. Group including New Found Glory are enjoying a resurgence of sorts, and Blink 182 have re-formed. Green Day never ceased, but they started caring too much at least 10 years past. 'Slam-Dunk' Holiday in britain boasts a fine selection of Poppunk expertise, both new and vintage, and the Vans Warped Tour hosts lots of Pop-Punk.

Fear not. It truly is back....sort of. The subject matter remains a bit psychological....and diehard audio snobs will brand anything that is not pointless EMO. However, the essential is...it it does not take itself too seriously again.
